HAVIT Account and Data Deletion

Last updated: on the effective date below
Effective date: the day the HAVIT iOS app is first made available on the Apple App Store. Until that day, this document applies to the Android app only.

This page is information only: it has no sign-in and no form, and nothing is deleted from it.

This page explains how to delete your account and data for the app HAVIT: Habit Alarm & Detox (the name shown on Google Play; on iOS the app appears on your Home Screen as HAVIT), operated by Mindknoll (마인드놀).

Two ways to ask for deletion:

  • In the app: My page → Settings → Delete my account and data (Section 2).
  • If you cannot open the app or sign in: email mindknoll@mindknoll.com from the email address of the account you signed up with: the address of your Google account, or, if you signed in with Sign in with Apple and chose to share your email, that address. We delete the account within 30 days (Section 6). If you signed in with Apple and hid your email, use the in-app route instead (Section 6.3).

1. Overview

1.1 The HAVIT: Habit Alarm & Detox app is operated by Mindknoll (마인드놀) ("we", "us"), a sole proprietor. Representative: Dong-ho Won. Business registration number: 680-24-00840. Address: 12, Yeongdang-ro, Gwangmyeong-si, Gyeonggi-do, Republic of Korea (경기도 광명시 영당로 12, 1동 101층).

1.2 This page explains how to delete your HAVIT account and data, what is deleted, what is kept for a short time, and who to contact. It goes with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

1.3 In short:

  • You can delete your account yourself, inside the HAVIT app. If you cannot access the app, you can ask us by email (Section 6).
  • Deletion in the app happens right away. There is no waiting period and no way to undo it. A request by email is handled within 30 days.
  • Your data is erased. Only a few one-way values and the time of deletion stay for 30 days, to stop the same account from signing up again straight away.
  • The photos in your notes are files rather than database rows, so they are deleted right after the rest and, if a file deletion has to be retried, within 7 days at the latest (Section 3.1).

2. How to delete your account in the app

2.1 HAVIT works inside the mobile app only, so the delete button is in the app. You need to be signed in.

2.2 Steps:

  1. Open HAVIT and go to My page, then Settings.
  2. Tap Delete my account and data.
  3. Read what goes away and what happens if you come back later.
  4. Type the confirmation phrase shown on the screen exactly (DELETE MY ACCOUNT).
  5. Tap Delete my account.
  6. If you signed in with Sign in with Apple, an Apple confirmation appears once more. This lets us ask Apple to revoke HAVIT's sign-in authorization (Section 4.5). If you close it, your account is still deleted, but the link with Apple may not be removed; you can remove it yourself in your Apple Account settings.

2.3 If a detox session is running, finish it first. The screen asks you to do so before you can delete.

2.4 When deletion finishes, you are signed out and taken to the sign-in screen.

2.5 If you can use the app, you do not need to contact us to delete your account, and you do not need to give a reason.

3. What is deleted

3.1 When you confirm in the app (or when we process your emailed request, Section 6), we delete the following.

Your account and everything attached to it in our database go in one step: if any part of that step fails, nothing is deleted and you can try again.

The photo files from your notes are not in the database — they sit in a separate file store — so they are not part of that step. They are deleted straight after it. That means two things, and we say both plainly: if a photo file cannot be deleted at that moment, your account and your data are still gone (the deletion is not rolled back and you do not need to try again), and the file deletion is retried automatically until it succeeds, so the files are gone at the latest within 7 days of your deletion. A failure is not left unnoticed: it is shown in our internal monitoring so that we act on it.

WhatDetails
Account and sign-inYour account, your email address (or Apple private relay address) and all sign-in details held by our authentication provider (including the name, profile picture address and Google account identifier Google sent, or the identifier Apple assigned to your Apple Account for HAVIT if you signed in with Apple), your account ID, and your profile (nickname and the normalised form of it, language and time-zone settings, onboarding and tutorial progress, notification on/off choices, and the time the app was last opened with your account)
PlansAll your plans, with their repeat rules and reminder settings
Sleep habitYour bedtime and wake-time habit, repeat rule, alarm sound choice and reminder settings
Detox recordsEvery detox session and the counted time in it, including the plan-window records that belong to each session
Sleep recordsEvery night you recorded, including bedtime, wake time, snoozes and when the alarm was turned off
Room and rewardsYour room layout, wallpaper and flooring choices, items placed in the room, weekly rewards you received, and any record that a reward was withdrawn from you
NotesEvery note you wrote after a plan window ended: its text, the list of photos in it, which plan window it belonged to, and when it was written or changed
The photos in your notesThe photo files themselves. They are in our file store, not in the database, and are deleted straight after the step above — within 7 days at the latest if a deletion has to be retried (3.1)
Notification dataYour device push tokens and any notifications waiting to be sent to you
Announcement historyWhich announcements you have read
InquiriesEvery 1:1 inquiry you sent us and our replies
Shop item requestsEvery request you sent to the shop for an item you would like to see there

3.2 Everything above except the photo files is attached to your account in our database and is removed together with it. The photo files are in our file store and are removed right after, as described in 3.1.

3.3 Data that is only on your device (for example a record waiting to be sent, or your notification preference) is not on our servers. When deletion finishes, the app releases the push token, ends the sign-in session, cancels the wake-up alarms scheduled on the device, and clears the data it keeps on the device (such as the queue of records waiting to be sent, including a note or a photo that had not been uploaded yet, and local preferences). The app stops that queue before the deletion starts, so an upload cannot put a photo back after your files have been deleted. The app also cancels scheduled alarms when you sign out. If anything remains, uninstall the app or clear its storage.

4. What is not deleted immediately, and for how long

4.1 To stop the same account from signing up again straight after deletion, and to stop someone else from taking your nickname in the meantime, we keep these for 30 days:

What we keepWhyHow long
A one-way value (hash) made from your email addressSo the same email cannot sign up again for 30 days30 days
A one-way value (hash) made from the identifier Apple assigned to your Apple Account for HAVIT (only if you had signed in with Apple and deleted in the app)So the same Apple sign-in cannot sign up again for 30 days, even if its email address is hidden or not shared30 days
A one-way value (hash) made from your nicknameSo nobody else takes that nickname for 30 days (kept only if you had a nickname)30 days
The time you deleted the accountTo tell you the date you can return30 days

4.2 A one-way value always gives the same result for the same input, but your email address, Apple identifier or nickname cannot be worked back out of it, not even by us. Before creating it we mix in a secret known only to our server. This makes guessing harder but cannot remove the risk entirely.

4.3 After 30 days these are deleted automatically by a daily clean-up.

4.4 The 30 days are not a time to recover your account. Nothing is recoverable. They only mean the same account cannot sign up again during that time. After the 30 days you can sign up again with the same account and start with an empty HAVIT.

4.5 Other things that may remain:

WhatDetails
A photo file from a note whose deletion failedOnly if the deletion of that file did not succeed at the moment your account was deleted. It is retried automatically and is gone at the latest within 7 days (3.1). Nothing in the database points to it any more, and nobody — including our administrator — has a screen that opens it.
Operator action logA record of actions taken by our administrator (for example answering an inquiry or withdrawing a reward), kept for accountability. Each entry records the operator's email address, the action, the ID of what it was done to, and details (for example your user ID or a character count). It does not contain your name, email address, nickname or inquiry text. It is not removed with your account and cannot be edited or deleted by anyone. We keep these records for one year; our server then deletes records older than one year automatically.
Anonymous countsOverall product counts that are not linked to you, if we collect them (not collected yet).
Provider logs and backupsOur providers may keep technical logs (such as IP address and request time) for periods set by those providers. Our authentication provider stores IP addresses and user agents in its session and audit logs. When Apple's revocation does not complete (see below), our server writes a technical log line with your account ID and a short reason word; it is not stored in our database and is kept for the period set by our hosting provider. Backups of the service may keep copies of data for a limited period after deletion, so deleted data can remain in a backup until it expires.
Advertising dataAds are shown by Google AdMob. Data Google collects for ads is held by Google under its own policies, and we cannot delete it. You can manage it through your device's advertising settings and your Google account; on iOS, also through your iOS tracking settings.
Your Google accountDeleting HAVIT does not delete or change your Google account. You can remove HAVIT's access in your Google account settings.
Your Apple AccountDeleting HAVIT does not delete or change your Apple Account. When you delete your account in the app, we ask Apple to revoke HAVIT's sign-in authorization for it; for this, the app asks Apple for a one-time code that our server uses once and does not store. If Apple's revocation does not complete (for example you close Apple's confirmation or Apple cannot be reached), your account and data are still deleted. You can remove HAVIT's access yourself in your Apple Account settings under Sign in with Apple.

4.6 Signing up again with a different method. The 30-day block applies to the same email address and, for Apple, to the same Apple identifier. If you delete an account created with Google and then sign in with Sign in with Apple while hiding your email, Apple's relay address and your Google address are different, and we hold nothing that links them, so the block does not apply to that sign-up. The same holds the other way round.

5. Deletion cannot be undone

5.1 Deletion is permanent. We cannot restore your plans, records, room, rewards, inquiries or the item requests you sent to the shop, and we cannot cancel a deletion once you confirm it in the app or once we have processed your emailed request.

5.2 Rewards and room items cannot be bought or sold and have no money value. They are lost with the account (Terms of Service, Section 9).

5.3 Notifications. After deletion we send you no notifications from HAVIT, because your notification tokens and any waiting notifications are deleted. You can also uninstall the app or turn off its notifications in your device settings.

5.4 Ads. Ads are shown inside the app, so once you delete your account and stop using the app you will no longer see HAVIT ads. Ad choices you made on your device stay on your device.

5.5 Payments. HAVIT has no payments or subscriptions at launch, so there is nothing to cancel.

6. If you cannot open the app or sign in

6.1 If you can open the app and sign in, please delete your account in the app (Section 2).

6.2 If you cannot access the app (for example you uninstalled it, lost your device, or cannot sign in), you can ask us to delete your account by email, without reinstalling the app. You can also reinstall the app, sign in with the same sign-in method you used before (Google, or Sign in with Apple on iOS), and follow Section 2 if you prefer.

6.3 To ask by email:

  1. Write to mindknoll@mindknoll.com.
  2. Send the email from the email address of the account you used to sign up for HAVIT: the address of your Google account, or, if you signed in with Sign in with Apple and chose to share your email, that address.
  3. Say that you want your HAVIT account and data deleted. You do not need to give a reason.

If you signed in with Sign in with Apple and chose to hide your email, the address on your account is an Apple private relay address, which you cannot send email from. In that case, please reinstall the app, sign in with Sign in with Apple using the same Apple Account, and delete the account in the app (Section 2). We do not delete such an account on an email request alone.

6.4 We check that the request is yours by confirming that an account was signed up with the email address the request came from.
6.5 We delete the account within 30 days of your request. We will reply to confirm when deletion is done.

6.6 What is deleted is the same as for deletion in the app (Section 3) — including your notes and the photo files in them, which follow the same rule and the same 7-day limit (3.1). It makes no difference how the deletion was asked for. What is kept for a short time is the same in principle (Section 4): the hashes of your email address and nickname and the time of deletion stay for 30 days, and the other items listed in Section 4.5 may remain. A deletion made at your email request does not keep a hash of an Apple identifier. We cannot ask Apple to revoke HAVIT's authorization for an account deleted by email, because that needs Apple's confirmation in the app; you can remove HAVIT's access in your Apple Account settings.

6.7 If you have lost access to your Google account or your Apple Account, we cannot recover it for you. Please contact Google or Apple to recover the account; you can then delete in the app (Section 2) or ask us by email from that address.

7. Deleted by mistake, or want to come back

7.1 Nothing can be recovered. If you want to use HAVIT again, you can sign up again with the same account once 30 days have passed since deletion. You will start with an empty HAVIT.

7.2 If you try to sign in during the 30 days, the app tells you the date of deletion and the date you can sign up again.

8. Your other rights

8.1 You can contact us about other requests concerning your data, such as a copy of it, as described in the Privacy Policy, Section 9. You may have additional rights under applicable law; contact us.

8.2 Deleting your account does not remove information we are required by law to keep, if any.

9. What the app screen says

9.1 The delete screen in the app lists, under "What goes away": your account and the way you sign in, detox sessions and the minutes in them, your plans and notifications, the nights you recorded, your room and rewards, your inquiries and replies, your notification data, your notes with the photos in them, and the item requests you sent to the shop. For accounts that signed in with Apple on iOS, it adds a notice that an Apple confirmation appears once more. This page gives the full detail (Section 3).
